Description

The 'Inspiring a Culture of Philanthropy' project offers a bespoke programme of fundraising support for participating museums in the Hampshire and Solent region. The project started in 2014 and will end in March 2018.

The project is committed to sharing the learning with museums from across the wider South region and the aim of this conference is to share the learning gained over the last three years and plan the project legacy to ensure the learning continues beyond the life of the project.

Between 2014 and 2016, 28 museums and heritage organisations joined the project and formed cohorts. The cohort model helps participants build connections which can be sustained beyond the life of the project. Each cohort completes the core training and attends bespoke training sessions and workshops. In addition, mentoring and peer learning sessions are offered to the museums. A Project Advisory Group made up of donors from the philanthropic and business community advises the project team and engages with participating museums giving invaluable feedback and insight from a donor perspective.

Our key note speaker, Anne Young, HLF Catalyst Programme Director and Head of Strategic Planning, will provide an update on HLF's grants and there will also be opportunities to share learning; plan the legacy of the project and attend fundraising clinics.
